Who I am

My name is Sam Schneider. I am clinical counsellor with the Canadian Professional Counselling Association (CPCA) and have been counselling for over 7 years. I have recently acquired my Master Practicioner of Clinical Counselling (MPCC)

Throughout my years counselling, I have worked primarily with a neurodiverse population. As someone who was diagnosed with Dyspraxia at the age of 8, I know well how important support is during your formative years and without the support I received growing up, it would have been impossible to be where I am today.

I believe in a client centred counselling approach; that is to say I believe is the most knowledge person on what their needs are and it is my job to help guide my client to that knowledge.

Working both in the school setting (which I currently do) and in private practice, I have gathered a wealth of knowledge in how best to support Neurodivergent youth. Whether it be for develop skills for emotional regulation, better understanding social cues or help with executive functioning skills such as organisation, focus and task initiation, I have helped countless youth overcome the daily struggles of life.

I am passionate about the work that I do and am proud of the impact I can have on a young person’s life.
